It was cabaret night last night. Several of the burlesque acts from the night before reappeared. There was a beautiful russian singer I could have listened to all night despite not understanding a word. A korean couple rather bravely did a Lindy Hop routine, and impressed. Lloyd did a scientific comparison of the psychological effect of clapping on 1 and 3 vs 2 and 4. This being week 4 there were several tap routines, of which the most memorable was by a couple of guys in costumes that were straight out of Carry On Cleopatra. The show closed with a self-obsessed number by the teachers. Kevin and Mikey were the comperes, and their gag was to get increasingly drunk as the evening wore on. We were promised a late-night cabaret to host all the acts that didn't make it into the main event, but it didn't materialise. Instead there was a huge jam circle in the main ballroom in which the Mozambique dancers, the Cirque du Soleil tap dancer and others entertained the crowds for a couple of hours at least. The ballroom was still packed when I left at 7:30am. I haven't seen that before. I have another lame costume for the party tomorrow. The theme is World Fair. I will be representing England in wet weather clothing.
